Murtha Amphitheater and other venues. ringing the best live music to the city for over a decade. In 1998, the John P. Murtha Amphitheater was constructed in Kittanning’s Riverfront Park, but was rarely used. In July 2007, Dr. Gerald Shuster, then president of Kittanning’s Borough Council, asked eight area residents to develop a plan to utilize the amphitheater. No guidelines were provided by the Council. The group began planning, and

The group began planning, and on June 1, 2008, the newly created "Arts on the Allegheny" presented its first concert.
In keeping with our mission, all of the events are free to the public. "Arts on the Allegheny" is volunteer driven with no paid employees. It is funded primarily by sponsorships and individual donations.
